Exterior of the Lord Baltimore

The owners of the Lord Baltimore Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland, announced the completion of a significant renovation to the property.  The historic hotel was formerly known as the Radisson Plaza Lord Baltimore, until it was acquired and renamed by Rubell Hotels last August.

The 23-story hotel’s 440 guest rooms and suites were redesigned with dark wood paneling, contemporary artwork, and velvet drapes. Each room has a refrigerator, an HD TV, a bedside charging station, and complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access.

The hotel’s lobby was also redesigned as part of the restoration, and features columns, lounge seating, and a gold chandelier.  Adjacent to the lobby is the LB Tavern, a library-like gathering area that offers cocktails, and where seven multi-colored Candida Hofer photographs of libraries from around the world are on display.

The hotel’s Calvert Ballroom was updated as well, and now showcases the room’s original scenic murals, crystal Baccarat chandeliers, and six balconies.  In addition, art exhibitions highlighting local, national, and global works will take place throughout the property’s public spaces.

Rubell Hotels is a family-owned business, with a reputation for renovating and redesigning architecturally significant and historic hotels.  The Lord Baltimore Hotel is in the National Register of Historic Places, and is also a member of the Historic Hotels of America program.
