Members of the U.S. Navy's Seventh Fleet are in the southern Indian Ocean search for Flight 370 in an area about the size of New Mexico. Commander William Marks is the fleet's spokesman, He told Anderson "I know if this were me and my family, I would want the U.S. Navy out here looking and that's what we are doing."

Anderson discussed the search with David Gallo, who co-led the search for Air France Flight 447, along with retired airline pilot Ron Brown.
