The Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announced that it will begin offering guests free access to PressReader, a digital newspaper and magazine service, in lieu of complimentary print newspapers on March 29.  The company’s switch from print to digital news is intended to save paper and reduce environmental waste.

Guests will be able to access PressReader by downloading an application from PressReader.com. The application is free and can be downloaded to laptop, as well as Apple, Windows, Android, or Blackberry mobile device.

Once the application is installed, guests will be able to select from over 2,000 local, regional, and international publications in 60 different languages.

The PressReader service will be available at all Shangri-La properties, as well as Kerry, a Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts brand, establishments with access to Wi-Fi, in addition to hotel cars equipped with wireless Internet service.

The hotelier will continue offering guests select print newspapers upon request at all properties.
